More of a selection than a DJ mix, drmystery takes the listener on a dark and hazey journey through different sounds and feelings. Although the genres change there is constant conflict between celebratory feelings and more mournful ones.
Time Cow is a Time Cow, current definition being, a cow that travels back and forth in time and brings music from both regions to current time and makes it the norm. I sample a lot from a lot of different genres, funk, disco, rhythm and blues, jazz, reggae, and other obscure genres. Crate digging without all the crates. I also sample from movies. But with both music and movies nothing past 1980.
Greetings From Jupiter is part of a much larger project – award winning filmmaker George Haydock’s film Jupiter. Jupiter is currently in selection for a number of film festivals worldwide but its soundtrack by composer and conductor Jack Sheen is being released by GG’s musical arm Infinite Scroll this month.
Samrai’s best known as the co-founder of Swing Ting which he started around six years ago alongside Platt. After a few years of being stationed at various clubs across the city, has settled in the basement at Soup Kitchen since 2011.
