Generic Mix #16: Cosmic Tones & Variable Sound by Kernon

For our first Generic Mix of 2015 we've got a special mix by Kernon with imagery by GG new recruit Esme Rees.

Cosmic Tones & Variable Sound is perhaps the most esoteric mix we've had so far. It transverses the rawest of raw jazz, through Mark Fell's hardware glitches, all the way to Chandrabodhi's meandering Bhuddist meditations. It combines a wide range of sounds that could sound jarring if mixed in a less artful manner. Kernon however takes the listener on a succint journey through different worlds, genres and harmonies. Kernon had this to say about the mix: "The second half is probably nicer than the first half but I like it all".

The artwork this month has been supplied by Esme Rees who's Forgotten Film blog is a must see. This is what she said about her work and this piece: "I don't believe in a perfect photograph or a bad photograph. It is just the moment that is right. This one is blurry, it's just cereal but it could be something else and I like that."
